The Jacobs Robotics group has several projects in Marine Robotics. The groups expertise is in underwater perception, e.g., object recognition and localization, and world-modeling, e.g., 2D and 3D mapping, using cameras as well as different forms of sonar. Our projects include the following ones:
- Unconstrained Synthetic Aperture Sonar (U-SAS) – DFG
- 3D Mapping of the U-Boot Bunker Valentin memorial by Air-, Ground-, and Underwater-Robots (Valentin3D) – BMBF
- Effective Dexterous ROV Operations in Presence of Communications Latencies (DexROV) – EU H2020
- Underwater Robotics Bridge Inspection (FloodEvac) – BMBF
- Cognitive autonomous diving buddy (CADDY) – EU FP7
- Object Recognition in Sonar-Data – Industry
- Marine Robotic System of Self Organizing, Logically Linked Physical Node (MORPH) – EU FP7
- Cooperative Cognitive Control for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (Co3-AUVs) – EU FP7
- An Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) – Industry
- Underwater Localization with Sonar Data – Industry
